At the first degree, one must be brave
enough to go into enemy lines as if
chosen to come up unseen right in
the middle of the adversary called pride.
This will not be a shattering of the self
or the death of your ego's history.
It will be a place in the mind where
a better idea lights up the soul the way
a slip of sunlight brightens a box
or cave. The second degree marches
under the banner of heaven but is not
as celestial as it appears. Arrogance
comes with its shadow warriors and an
ocean of alternative meanings. It is
the last door you must unlock on your
way to the third degree of humility.
Once you arrive, the death of outrage
will unfold in front of your very eyes.
The bright side of truth will illuminate
an ecstasy, call it gentle joy. It will do
something you had not expected. You
will see a vision. A single drop of ocean
water will show you that while it contains
everything the ocean water has, it is dependent
upon all the other drops to make a sea.
